Mountville Baptist Church is committed to providing the greatest opportunity possible for worship and service. One vital part of our ministry is that of a Part-Time Music Worship Leader. The Part-Time Music Worship Leader serves as a team member of the Paid Staff under the supervision of the Pastor.
- The individual must have a deep personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
- They must have a vital, growing relationship with Jesus Christ, a passion for worship, a humble team-oriented heart, and must be an active member of a church whose beliefs are compatible with the Southern Baptist Convention Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
- This position will require an individual who is comfortable with a blended worship of both traditional hymns, contemporary music and a knowledge of both. Musical training and education are preferred, but experience shall also be considered in lieu of formal education and training.
- Prefer someone that can lead worship from a guitar or keyboard. Prefer someone that has a pleasant and capable solo voice. Must be able to read music proficiently.
- The Part-Time Music Worship Leader plans, organizes, coordinates, and leads Sunday Morning Music Worship. The object of Music Worship is to lead worship and congregational singing, not performance. The leader must be able to communicate effectively and passionately to engage the congregation in Worship through Music.
- The Part-Time Music Worship Leader is expected to be available for Sunday morning Worship Services and the possibility of other special music programs, as well as to be available to prepare and conduct rehearsals if needed.
- Prepare Music PowerPoint Presentations and other Audio/Visual Presentations. Coordinate on a timely basis with the Audio/Visual Technician regarding use of these and all other technical needs for Sunday Worship.
- Seek out others in the congregation with desire and ability to periodically assist in Music Worship Leadership. (Instrumentation and Vocal)
